Sponsorship and proud alliances

For 30 years Bartercard has been supporting charities, sporting groups and local communities through sponsorship and proud alliances. Members have donated millions of trade dollars, goods, and services to fund the work of charities in locally and nationally.

The names of some of the charities who benefit from the generosity of Bartercard and its business members will be familiar. Guide Dogs for the Blind Association of Queensland, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Hear and Say Centre for Deaf Children Ltd, Variety the Children’s Charity, Multiple Sclerosis Ltd, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Quality Central QLD, and Heart Foundation Victoria.

Making a difference

Others you may not have heard of as they are smaller charities, working on the ground to make a difference in the lives of others. Charities like Lifeshapers, who provide over 800 free meals a week and provide housing for homeless men. The Wayne Weaver Foundation Ltd giving support to indigenous prisoners and their families at times of grief and Friends with Dignity, offering practical assistance to families and individuals affected by domestic and family violence.

One Light Charity

Ten years ago, Bartercard launched One Light Charity Foundation Ltd, with the aim to represent all members and support member registered charities. To date, One Light has raised and granted over three million trade dollars to help communities affected by bushfires, floods, drought and to help our Aussie farmers.

Unlike many charities, One Light runs on a very lean cost structure as many of their resources are donated including goods, services, and volunteer time.

Here’s where your business can help!

Donating trade dollars can really support your chosen charity. Many Bartercard member businesses have a favourite charity they support on a regular basis, while others answer the call and donate in times of crisis such as during natural disasters. Using the One Light Charity Foundation platform, you choose which campaign to support, and your business name can be linked (if you want) to show how you have helped.

And your trade dollar donations of over T$5,000 are tax-deductible!

To date, over 10, 000 Bartercard business members have answered the call and jumped on board to put their trade dollars to good use in their local communities and further afield. Something a little unique about One Light Charity is it also accepts donations in trading stock, property, services, and cryptocurrencies as well as cash and of course trade dollars.

Charities, Not for Profits and Institutions can apply to be a beneficiary of One Light Charity. All undergo stringent checks to ensure they align with Bartercard values, so their donations create the most impact.
